Bored at home with your pet in quarantine? Try out these easy recipes and treat your furry companions to some yummy homemade treats!

Homemade Peanut Butter Dog Treats:
Picture
This dog treat recipe only calls for four ingredients, how convenient! You’ll need:

  • ⅔ cup pumpkin puree
  • ¼ cup peanut butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2½ - 3 cups whole wheat flour

Directions:
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. Mix pumpkin puree, peanut butter, and eggs until well combined. Then, gradually add 2½ cups of flower, mixing until they are just incorporated. Add an additional ¼ cup of flour at a time until the dough is no longer sticky.
  3. Lightly flour a flat surface and knead the dough 3-4 times until it comes together. Then, use a rolling pin and roll the dough to ¼ inch thickness. Cut out desired shapes using a cookie cutter (bone-shaped ones are recommended just because they’re so cute!) and place onto the baking sheet.
  4. Place in the oven and bake for around 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
  5. Let the treats cool completely before serving.

Enjoy!

3 Ingredient Cat Treat Recipe:
Picture
This cat treat recipe only calls for three ingredients! You’ll need:

  • 10 oz canned salmon (undrained)
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 2 cups whole wheat flour

Directions:
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and pulse 10 oz canned salmon (undrained) in a food processor as fine as possible.
  2. Combine the processed salmon, egg (beaten), and 2 cups of whole wheat flour in a stand mixer until dough forms. The dough should be tacky but not sticky.
    1. If the dough is too dry, add ⅓ cup of water.
    2. If the dough is too wet or sticky, add a little bit more flour.
  3. Roll out dough on a floured surface to ¼ inch thickness. Then, use a ¾ inch cookie cutter in the shape of your choice to cut out your treats (we recommend using small goldfish-shaped cookie cutters for maximum cuteness!).
  4. Place treats on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for about 20 minutes, or until they’re slightly browned and crunchy.
  5. Let the treats completely cool before serving.
    1. Treats can be stored in an airtight container for up to two weeks!
